Find out about our Parents' Forum

Pembury House Children’s Centre offers a wide range of services for children under 5 and their parents from the local community.

Baby Group

For new parents, we have our friendly and supportive baby group. Come along and meet other new parents and babies! We sometimes invite special guests – these include our link health visitor (to talk about feeding and sleep) and a PIPS psychologist (to talk about bonding and attachment).

Stay and Play Groups

For children aged up to 3 years old and their parents/carers, we run stay and play groups 4 times a week. These offer a range of exciting opportunities for learning through play. Come and join us for messy play, waterplay, singing and reading, and exploring outdoors!

Adult learning

Would you like to improve your English? Find out about our ESOL classes, run by WEA. We have a range of courses at different levels. Please ask Gulden or Silva for more information.

Volunteering

Would you like to develop your skills and experience? Are you hoping to get on to a course or find a job in the next year? Come and speak to Gulden or Sylvie to find out about our volunteering programme. We have volunteers in our under 3s and over 3s nurseries and in our children’s centre groups. We can also help you find volunteering opportunities in other settings.

We are currently running a volunteer training programme at Welbourne Children's Centre. A further course starts next term. Please telephone 020 8801 9914 to obtain further information.

Help and support

Do you have an issue or problem? Don’t struggle alone! Ask for Sylvie, Silva or Petra, who can help you with a range of needs, such as:

  • Housing and homelessness
  • Domestic abuse
  • Drugs and alcohol
  • Debt and benefits
  • Understanding and managing your child’s behaviour
  • Understanding and supporting your child’s learning and development needs
  • Applying for a nursery or school place

If our team cannot help you directly, they will refer you to someone who can. We work closely with other agencies such as health visitors, Citizens’ Advice (CAB) and Solace Women’s Aid.
